Board of Directors
The board of directors of the Central Bank of The Gambia consists of the Governor as its chairperson and four other directors. Empowered by the CBG Act2005, the board performs its function independently and is responsible for the observance of the objectives of the Bank and its general administration and formulating policies necessary for the achievement of the objectives of the Bank.
Members of the board are appointed by the President in consultation with the Public Service Commission, from among persons of standing and experience in financial matters.
The board members, other than the chairperson, can be appointed for a term of two years and are eligible for a further term.
The board meets at least once every three months, but the governor may summons meetings as often as required.
