The Central Bank of The Gambia (CBG), in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs and the University of The Gambia, is organising an international conference to commemorate the CBG's 55th anniversary under the theme “Resilience for Growth and Sustainable Development in the Monetary and Fiscal Policy Space.”
Beyond the anniversary milestone, the conference offers a high-level platform for intellectual exchange and policy dialogue on how monetary and fiscal authorities can enhance macroeconomic resilience, respond to global shocks, and foster inclusive and sustainable growth. It aims to bridge research and practice by bringing evidence-based insights into current and emerging policy challenges facing small, open, and developing economies, particularly in the areas of inflation management, financial sector development, digital transformation, and climate resilience.
The conference is designed for a broad but clearly defined audience, including Central Bank Governors and Senior Policymakers, Fiscal and Economic Policymakers, Academics and Researchers, Graduate and Postgraduate Students, Development Partners and Practitioners.
By convening this diverse group, the conference seeks to promote informed policy discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration between decision-makers, researchers, and development stakeholders. This clarity of purpose and participation is intended to guide conference planning, participation levels, seating arrangements, and accommodation needs.
This is a three-day conference that will be accompanied by various activities and is expected to attract international guests from sister countries. However, the Government of The Gambia, the Private sector, NGOs, etc., are also expected to attend.
